SIJILAT-MOIC Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common business registration questions in Bahrain

SIJILAT is the official online commercial registration portal operated by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MOIC). It is the single platform used to reserve a company name, register a company, obtain licenses and manage your Commercial Registration (CR).
Many service and manufacturing activities allow full foreign ownership without a local partner. However, certain activities, particularly some trade, import and export activities, require a level of Bahraini, GCC or eligible ownership. The rules depend on the specific activity selected, so we confirm eligibility for your case before proceeding.
Common forms include the Individual Establishment, Partnership Company, With Limited Liability (WLL), Closed Joint Stock Company (BSC Closed), Foreign Branch and Holding Company. Note that the Single Person Company form was merged into the WLL form, so a WLL may now have one or more shareholders. We help you choose the right structure for your activity.
Yes. A reserved commercial name must comply with MOIC naming guidelines. An Arabic name is required and an English translation is optional. We handle the name reservation and naming checks on your behalf.
Documents are generally accepted in Arabic or English. However, documents that need to be notarized in Bahrain must be in Arabic. The Memorandum and Articles of Association, for example, are prepared in Arabic and notarized.
Government fees, any capital requirements and timelines depend on your company type, business activity and required approvals. We provide an accurate cost and timeline estimate after a short consultation, with no obligation.
